[Bug] WinVICE: Wrong behaviour on very fast machines

SYMPTOMS

You have a very fast machine. Running WinVICE, you get impossible numbers for your speed (for example negative ones), or VICE does not run smoothly, or some other symptoms.

CAUSE

There is a variable overflow in VICE in speed determination on fast machines.

SOLUTION

Use a newer version of WinVICE (1.12 and up).

STATUS

The VICE team has confirmed this to be a bug in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions
