[Bug] closing the monitor from GUI results in strange behaviour of the monitor

SYMPTOMS

If you close the VICE monitor using the GUI instead of entering "x" inside the monitor, the next time you open the monitor, it will show up on a totally wrong place (for example, just above the task bar) or show other erroneously behaviour.

SOLUTION

Make sure you don't close the monitor from the GUI with version 1.8 of VICE.

STATUS

The VICE team has confirmed this to be a problem in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions
