[Bug] VICE 1.8 cannot attach zipped file or disk images

The information in this article applies to the following versions of VICE:

SYMPTOMS

If you try to attach a zipped file to VICE, it simply does not work.

CAUSE

There is a bug which prevents VICE from unzipping the file.

SOLUTION

Unzip the file on your own and attach the unzipped file.

STATUS

The VICE team has confirmed this to be a problem in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions.
