[Bug] xpet cannot load t64 images

The information in this article applies to the following versions of VICE:

SYMPTOMS

Using xpet in the versions listed above, the emulator cannot load any file from a T64 image.

CAUSE

This is a bug in the versions listed above.

BACKGROUND

Starting with VICE 1.10, a bug was fixed which prevented x64 and other emulators from correctly reading T64 images. Unfortunately, due to KERNAL differences between x64 and xpet, this fix broke T64 support in xpet.

WORKAROUND

Use an older version of xpet (1.9 or older), or wait for a new version of VICE.

STATUS

The VICE team has confirmed this to be a bug in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions
