[Bug] xpet/xcbm2 crash on startup and/or show erroneous output with double size or fullscreen output enabled
The information in this article applies to the following versions of VICE:
- VICE 1.14 on all plattforms; older ones might be affected, too
SYMPTOMS
Using xpet or xcbm2 shipped with VICE 1.14, the emulators crash on startup if you load a configuration with double size enabled, or the emulators show a wrong display.
CAUSE
These are bugs in the versions listed above.
WORKAROUND
Only use configurations without double size or fullscreen output enabled. If you cannot start the emulator to disable these settings, delete your VICE.INI or ~/.vice/vicerc file, depending on your architecture, and make sure you don't save a configuraton with these settings enabled. Better yet, wait for a newer version of VICE.
STATUS
The VICE team has confirmed this to be a bug in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions
