[Bug] Resetting while doing disc operations can result in strange behaviour of VICE

The information in this article applies to the following versions of VICE:

SYMPTOMS

Resetting VICE while doing disc operations if true drive emulation is enabled, can result in strange behaviour of VICE up to munching system resources, making the entire OS unusable.

CAUSE

There is a bug in the true drive emulation.

SOLUTION

Use a newer version of WinVICE.

STATUS

The VICE team has confirmed this to be a bug in the VICE versions listed at the beginning of this article. It has been corrected in all subsequent versions
